An SBS bus driver has been suspected of stealing a laptop while on duty on Sunday.
The incident occurred at an NUS bus stop at 12.43pm. Surveillance footage showed the driver of bus 151 alighting from the bus to take a laptop that was on a bench before returning to complete his journey.
A 19-year-old Engineering student had earlier left her laptop behind at the Central Library bus stop when she boarded her bus just minutes before the incident.
She discovered it was missing an hour later and went back to look for it before making a report to NUS Campus Security at 1.40pm.
When contacted, a supervisor from Kent Ridge bus terminal indicated that no lost items had been declared and the driver had departed for another journey.
Mr. Abdul Shukor Bin Suratman said, “Drivers are supposed to report at the end of every bus journey if there are any lost items”.
A police report has since been made and the case is currently under investigation.
